Creation vs Evolution

Nathan Sickler Creation verses Evolution: The Controversy From the time it was introduced over a century ago, “Creation verses Evolution” has been a drawn out controversy. ... Which is it: evolution or creation? ... But with a thorough examination of scientific evidence one must believe that evolution is the basis for our existence. The idea of creation varies of course with each of the world’s many religions, so I will be presenting creation in its most common form. Creationists or Creation Scientists are people who argue side-by-side with evolutionists. ... Most people immediately associate creationists or even the word creation with Christianity. But this is only associated with one book of the Bible, the book Genesis that recounts the story of creation. ... Although evolution is seen throughout nature and proven by ancient fossils, they still disagree with the concept. To complicate matters further, creationists include a type of evolution as necessary in their studies. No man of science, including creationists, argues that “micro-evolution”, or variation within a type of organism occurs. ... Large-scale change of one type of organism to another is known as “macro-evolution”. In other words “macro-evolution” is referring to an alteration in a species above their level. ... This type of evolution is believed by creationists to be beyond the ability of mutation or natural selection. ... There are just too many unanswered questions to support the theory of creation. ... It was named this for the reason that it had a lot of the same views Darwin introduced about natural selection and mutations (Creation Science). There are several areas offering evidence to support the general theory of evolution, perhaps the most reliable of which is fossil record. ... As it develops, the middle toe grows at an accelerated rate as the other two begin to dwindle until it is born as a modern one-toed horse (Creation Science). Evidence like this that supports evolution is scattered all across the globe. To advance further in the understanding of evolution one must think outside the boundaries of earth and human life and decide where the universe began. ... Nevertheless the creation theory is facing the beginning of its total defeat. One explanation for this is that a number of creationists understand they would have to disregard all evidence astronomically, historically, and biologically, as well as be required to prove all the evidence which is so strong and fits together so well before they could place creation over evolution and choose not to do and believe as their fathers did.
