In the 1950s the suburbia housing boom really took off as a result of the new ability to mass produce houses, which turned out to be another victory for the industrialization movement, or was it? ... Suburbia was also vastly affected by religion and its revival in the suburbs. ... As Frederick Lewis Allen states in his 1954 article “The Big Change in Suburbia” out of Harper’s Magazine, “Churches are much more important institutions than anyone who was brought up in the twenties or thirties would have imagined they would be. ...
