Throughout history, the role of women in society has significantly been influenced by religious beliefs and traditions, Please choose one of the “views of women” from your textbook Momen, The Phenomenon of Religion (Oxford: One World 1999) pp. 437-8 and interpret this text in its religious context. Give at least two reasons, where the views held in the text possibly originate from. Discuss the difference whether such a view is proposed in a religious text, a government law, or a newspaper. In the book I found the Buddhist interpretation of women to be the most concise in portraying the role of women in society.
