Competing and Working for the American Dream in Death of a Salesman

In “Death of a Salesman”, the main character, Willy, a salesman, feels that the American dream is being known and respected by others. What he fails to realize is that his perception of the American dream is jaded. Throughout Act 1, we see how many of the main characters work and compete towards the American dream and how their lives change. ...
