Segregation whether it was due to race, religion, or gender has always existed in
our country and to some extent still exists today. One of the most prominent issues of
segregation is that between races more specifically between African- Americans and
Caucasian- Americans, which will be the focus of this paper. Segregation did not end
with the civil war in some respects it was just the beginning. ... The young boy in
Ernest Gaines “The Sky is Grey” experienced segregation at its most crucial point. ... All African-Americans who lived during this were all discriminated against because of segregation, basically if you were an African-American you were always in last in line for everything, or always on the back of the bus like the family in this story. Personally I think that some African-Americans who suffered segregation were more less inspired to do incredible things and inspire other African-Americans to do things with their lives that most of them were afraid of doing. ... Other black people who fought segregation included Booker T. ...
Segregation is a problem that we will be faced with for the rest of our lives.
