Ballston Lake - Ive recently interviewed local professional street racer, Johnny Tran, 19, of Ballston Lake, NY. After asking numerous questions, I have learned a lot about the life of a teenage street racer. ... Tran was how he got involved in street racing, since it may not seem like a very normal occupation to most people. "I first got into street racing when I was 17," explains Tran. ... From there, I decided to save my money up and build myself a street racing car. ... "Street racing is just like a game; you never really know if youre going to win until youre actually head-to-head with your opponent, speeding to the finish line. Everyone wins some and loses some, and you just got to try to stay ahead of the game," he says, perhaps offering some advice to aspiring street racers. ... Since being a street racer is such a risky hobby, I was curious if Tran ever experienced any times when he wanted to give it all up.
