Our world has several similarities to the world of 1984. The world of 1984 is much more severe but we do have some things that can make us wonder how life will be in centuries to come. ... Is everything exactly as we think it is all the time, or are we just as foolish as the people of the age of 1984? ... 1984 had telescreens and microphones that could see and hear everything everyone did at all times even if they couldn’t see them. ... Our world would never have anything like that. ...

As you can see, the world we are living in has many similarities to the world of 1984. George Orwell created a world based on his experience in the forties that much mirrors the time we are living in today. ... Could our world be doomed to mutate to that of the world of 1984?
