When looking at history, religion must be seen as an extremely important factor in the creation of many nations, including the United States. Often by studying a religion it is understood why certain rules and laws have been created and held at a high standard throughout the world and the cultures that exist within. ... While this might be the answer to why women’s religious stories have been left out, it is not the answer to the very pertinent question of “Are (Jewish) women Jews? ... With out an answer, or even an attempted explanation, many Jewish women have questioned their religious beliefs and roles in the a religion that leads their lives. In recent years however, many women have been able to take comfort and expand their spiritual lives based on the archaeological work by Gimbutas and the development of midrash by Plaskow.
