There were many shopping carts around our neighborhood from Safeway, Walgreen’s and even little corner stores and having a shopping cart was equivalent to having a Power Wheels Jeep. The homeless that had camped in our area abandoned these shopping carts and many kids that lived in our neighborhood would search for one to have of their own. ... My sister was in my Safeway cart and my brother was in my cousin’s Cost U Less cart. ... I lost control for a moment but gained control of the cart to find myself heading towards danger. ... I feared it so much that I turned the cart with all my strength to avoid colliding with the block but clipped the corner, causing the cart to flip forwards. My sister was ejected out of the cart onto the concrete ground and I, tripped and landed on top of the cart. ...
