Senate vs The House
The legislative branch of the government is divided into the House of Representatives, with 435 members, and the Senate, with 100 members. The House of Representatives leaders are selected by a secret ballot of the members of each party at a “conference” or caucus. The primary offices the House of Representatives is primarily concerned of filling would be: Speaker of the House, Majority Leader, Minority Leader, and the Whips. Current office holders include: Dennis Hastert of Illinois is the Speaker of the House; Tom DeLay of Texas is the Majority Leader; and Nancy Pelosi of California is the Minority Leader.
