Military vs. Law Enforcement
There are many similarities and differences between the military and law enforcement. Whether we are talking about uniforms, discipline, brotherhood, hierarchy, or even purpose in society, the military and law enforcement have many things in common and yet can be very different. I have heard many people refer to law enforcement as a Para-military organization, and I agree with that statement. I have experienced both the military and law enforcement; therefore, I feel I can give an insight to the commonalities and differences between the two. ... Both the military and law enforcement are required to wear uniforms, and are each easily identifiable. All law enforcement and military personnel are expected to keep their uniforms looking sharp. ... The military are issued camouflage uniforms for the purpose of concealment during battle. The law enforcement wears their uniforms to be easily recognized by your average citizen. Citizens in return want to be able to recognize their law enforcement officers in times of need.
