The Illiad

Do the gods Really Have Control? One of the main situations in the Illiad was when the gods felt the need to interfere with human fates. The gods often had conflicting views on how to deal with certain people in the story. The first instance of this was when Zeus did not want to let his beloved Sarpedon die. Zeus wants to take him away from the fighting, but Hera told him not to save Sarpedon because all of the other gods would be angry with him.
