Mediterranean, Chinese and the Indian Classical Civilizations There were many similarities and little differences between the Mediterranean, Chinese and Indian classical civilizations. People were shaped in these societies by religion and influence from other civilizations; however, China didn’t really get any outside influences because they were located in the center of many natural barriers. The way that the classical civilizations structured there social systems was different; however, in a way they were alike because they all believed that women shouldn’t have many rights, that there should be family ties and that they should be able to have slaves. ... Some civilizations, for example, considered the merchant to be upper class while others considered it to be a middle class it all really depended on the different views of the civilization’s economical focus.
