Rock Music

Being a high school student, I get exposure to all types of music: Britney Spears, Destiny's Child, John Mayer and Linkin Park are a few that I constantly hear on the radio. However, it's the music of the 60's and 70's that is what I love to listen to. Whether it's The Clash, Rolling Stones, Led Zeppelin or Pink Floyd, this music has never died.
I began listening to classic rock at the young age of 5. I would get out my dad's old Steppinwolf records and blast them through the house. Then, my taste got more sophisticated and the sounds of Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd came booming from my room. The guitar licks just fascinated me. These people were real musicians, unlike the superficial ones today. I mean, how can you call N'SYNC a boy "band". My god, none of them even play instruments. Bands like the Rolling Stones have a passion for what they do. I can tell by their stage presence and just by listening to the music. These are the bands that live on forever, affecting every generation. You can't tell me that 20 years from now people are still going to be listening to Christina Aguilara. If you've ever been to a Stones concert, you'll see ages ranging from 16 to 60. Rock music has had a tremendous impact of all American's lives. Although I know there will be some people in heavy disagreement, but do me a favor. Go out and listen to The Clash or Lynard Skynard, and you'll know what I'm talking about. After all, it's only Rock 'n Roll, but I like it.
