What do you think is the best kind of government? The question is a very hard to answer but, political philosophers like Locke, Montesquieu , and Madison tired to answer this question in many different ways. These philosophers looked at many questions when trying to create an ideal government. The most important of these were: what is the purpose of government, how do you organize this government, and what is the relationship between the government and the people. The hardest part of this was answering “why” when it came to any question. John Locke, who lived from 1632-1704, was a natural rights philosopher. Locke wrote about the natural rights philosophy, which was imagining what life would be like if there were no government.
