When Svejk is questioned in the police station he goes along with everything, signs anything they put in front of him, they send him to the insane asylum, he’s also kicked out of there. Svejk despite his best efforts to go and fight in the war is sent to a torture prison for people who are “sick”, but Svejk is actually sick. During the entire novel Svejk is told what to do. He is told to sign a confession, he is told to go to war, he is told to admit he was crying in mass for fun, and the good solider simply does what he is told.
