Interview with cousin 1. What does engineering mean to you? Engineering is the application of mathematics and science to help address and/or solve key societal issues. Many people in school study math and science for the pure sake of study; engineers study it to be able to apply it to solve problems and articulate solutions. 2. What encourage you to get involved and peruse the field of engineering? Encouraged / pursue I always had an affinity for numbers, math and science, readily grasping new concepts as I moved from algebra to trig to geometry to calculus, and from biology to chemistry to physics. I always seemed to be questioning what was it all good for, though, as you have probably experienced, mathematicians like to solve theorems. I would rather take your word for the validity of the theorem, and was more concerned with the answer to "so what?" That is, what good is it? If it is indeed true, what problems does it help me/us to solve? 3. What kind of degree do you have, what schools, and any other training in the field do you have? See attached resume. 4. What is your job title and what does your job consist of.
