Passenger Ships
During the early 1900’s there was much competition in the passenger liner industry. Shipping companies wanted to be the fastest and most luxurious way of crossing oceans. It seemed good to the people and the owners, but it lead to many drawbacks on safety issues. Safety regulations were not yet changed to accomidate such large vessels, and most usually went with the bare minimum. The best example of saftey failure is the Titanic, it will be compared to the Lusitania which was somewhat safer.
