Sparta has the best military of the time, and is much more prepared for an attack, Sparta also was better to its women, and overall a very nice society, when not in war. Sparta would have been the place to live, because you would not fear the Persians, or any enemy big or small. ... Sparta’s military was one of the most powerful in the world, and only 300 Spartans held off a huge force of Persians, of about 250,000 men, until they were flanked by the Persians. ... The women in Sparta were allowed to go outside, and according to the Ancient Greek: Sparta handout we got, Spartite women “had an unusual amount of domestic freedom…” Women were considered equals.
