Death in Two Pieces of Literature

The ideas about death in the poem "Death, Be Not Proud," and the section from "The Death of Ivan Illych," are two different things. "Death, Be Not Proud," by John Donne was written in 1633. John looks at death as if it is nothing important because everyone dies and everyone will come to the same fate in the end of his life. Leo Tolstoy wrote “Death of Ivan Illych,” in 1886. His views on death are different from the poet’s views because Ivan doesnt know what death is, he is confused and so he runs from death.
