I can not come up with a common thesis therefore I will just talk about my impression of the three sources. It is common knowledge that the word Islam means submission. However, confusion or undecided would be much better words to describe the religion. After reading "Another Islam," "Stranger in the Arab-Muslim World" and the interview with an exiled Egyption teacher, it is clear that American and Muslim interpretation of the situation and of eachother are completely different. In "Another Islam," the author states that the entire universe is nothing more to him than a grain of sand is to a human. He then goes on to state that Muslim scholars took this to mean that God is so great, so superior to humans that he would never be bothered with humans.
