Book Review: A Land to Die For, by Binka Le Breton Lush forest, wild tropical animals, and exotic flowers, a clear representation of the ever so famous Amazon rainforest located in Brazil, a land affected by various issues hidden from humanity. Many may think that because of Brazils rich forest, lengthy shoreline and large size, the issue “land war” would never be considered a dilemma that has taken many lives in Brazil, from squatters to priests. One priest’s efforts are described in such an informative novel entitled A Land to Die For by Binka Le Breton when a character by the name of Padre Josimo is introduced. A factual account of an expected casualty, A Land to Die For chronicles the work and murder of Padre Josimo, a black priest globally renowned for his part in the struggle in the poverty-stricken squatters for land, a black priest who fought with dispossessed Brazilian peasants against the landlords.
