In the book To Kill A Mocking Bird, a young girl named Scout learned many tough lessons about growing up. There were many times where she didn’t think about things before acting them out. However, Scout matures very much as the book progresses and learns to accept people for who they are. She learns not to judge people because of their economic differences, their race, or their style of living, but for who they are on the inside. One lesson that Scout learns was not to judge people based on their economic situation. A young boy named Walter was in Scouts’ first grade class and was known as a “Cunningham.” In the small town of Maycomb, the Cunningham’s where known as a very poor family.
