Things Fall Apart (Book Summary) By Chinua Achebe - Retold by John Davey This story takes place in Nigeria, Umuofia long time ago when the Europeans destructed the Nigerians and tried to take over the land’s goods. Okonkwo lived in Iguedo, a district in Umuofia, where people had their own religion and customs. They believed in their own gods and did everything to please them. They thought that they were pleasing their gods by following their customs, and that breaking the customs meant getting a punishment from the gods.
