Aston Villa defender Ronny Johnsen is suffering from a virus and is the only doubt from the side that defeated west midlands rivals West Brom at the weekend. Steve Staunton is set to skipper the team against his former club despite his needless sending-off against the Baggies for elbowing striker Danny Dichio, but Graham Taylor's plans to rest Sweden centre-back Olof Mellberg - who has a niggling Achilles tendon - will be shelved if Johnsen misses out. Midfielder Ian Taylor is again ruled out with a thigh strain although he could be back in action for the weekend encounter at Chelsea, while the match comes too soon for striker Peter Crouch, back in training after an ankle injury. Villans boss Taylor has warned his players to ignore Liverpool's current run of form, their worst in 19 years, and urged them to focus on the job in hand.
