Madness in Hamlet

The theme of madness comes up in key points of William Shakespeare’s Hamlet. The most obvious victim of the madness is Hamlet himself. Aside from Hamlet, other major characters in the play fall into madness, such as Ophelia, Laertes and King Claudius himself. Perhaps the most important aspect of madness in this particular play is the fact that all of those who experience madness, die.
