James Joyce was born on the 2nd of February 1882 in Dublin, where he would just six years later he would attend The Grim Stone Castle of Clongowes Wood College. His father, John Joyce, somewhat lacking the financial capability still enrolled James in order to receive the finest education in a Jesuit school, but there financial problem caught of three years later and had to leave. ... James Joyce managed to acquire certain necessities such as clothes, food and other materials, by entering in numerous English contest and winning repeatedly. In 1902 James Joyce broke away from his family and moved to Paris in order to take up the study of medicine.
