There was a man named Job. He was blameless and upright, one who feared God. Job had seven sons and three daughters. His children got together and held a feast. After the feast, he offered seven burnt offerings to the God because he thought that his sons might have sinned, and cursed God in their hearts.One day, the sons of God came to the LORD. Satan also came with them. God mentioned that Job was blameless, upright, and the one who turned from evil. Satan asked God to test Job’s faith and loyalty by destroying whatever Job had, and said to God that Job would curse Him if he lost everything. God gave Satan the permission to test Job. Thus, one day, a messenger came to Job saying that the Sabe’ans took the oxen that were plowing and the Asses feeding besides them away, and killed the servants. Then came another messenger saying that sheep and servants were burnt in a fire. Another messenger came saying that Chalde’ans raided the camels and killed the servants. And, finally, another messenger came with the message that his sons and daughters who had been eating and drinking in their eldest brother’s house were dead because the house had collapsed due to great wind.
