Often in literature, the actions of a character indicate what kind of person he is. In the novel Lord of the Flies, by William Golding, both Ralph and Jack’s actions indicate what kind of people they are. Ralph’s actions indicate that he’s a responsible, intelligent leader. Jack’s actions indicate that he’s a crazy, devil-like leader. Ralph indicates that he is a smart, responsible leader by doing various things throughout the journey on the island. He takes control and acts as the leader in the beginning of the story. This is his first good move. All the other people on the island were either younger or not as smart in his eyes.
