As technology has advanced, our ability to learn about the world around us has also increased. In this increase man has learned more, and more about the delicate balance of the ecosystem. This, in turn, has heightened concern about the ozone, global warming, deforestation, and many other, now important, environmental issues. Some special interest groups have even arisen. Group such as Green Peace, Save Our Streams, etc. Many people have formed opinions on mans role in maintaining. The environment has become increasingly important to people everywhere. But what stance should A Christian take? Are there biblical principles that govern our treatment of the environment? Should we even care? First let me address the last question. God has not called us to be ignorant of the issues surrounding us. Southeastern student Jamie Bell when asked about his views on the environment said, "It really doesn't matter what we do. We are all going to die one day so it really doesn't matter." This clearly illustrates the views of a large sect of the Christian population.
