"Because I Could Not Stop For Death"

The figure of death, although very natural, is also very cryptic, and is the most fearful thing for all of us. Imagine being at home doing your chores and someone knocks on your door. When you open the door, there stand an immortal knight like a thief in the dark ready to sweep you off to death. What would you do? Better yet, what can you do? Death asks no question when it is your time to go. In the Emily Dickinson poem, "Because I Could Not Stop for Death", describes death as quite unusual. It gives the reader an impression such as the fear of death that can have an evil and painful effect on our lives, could be eternity filled with kindness, patience and civility.
In reading of Dickinson mysterious poem, it not only help enhanced my reading experience, but also has a significant "shock value". For example, the speaker's kind reaction and attitude towards death was . In the first stanza, line two and three, the speaker spoke how kindly death stopped to pick her up and carried her off in a carriage with horses. Many people who have died would probably wished death came upon them to a gentleness that was expressed in this stanza.
The second stanza showed the patience that death had with the individual by allowing her to put away her tasks and her leisures, and slowly drove away with no excessive eagerness. The speaker described death as a perfect gentleman, with enormous amount of courtesy. People relate to death as unfriendly, very impatience, and a destruction of life. To experience death with the characteristics of an ideal knight would be every woman desire.
The experience with the third stanza, could lead one to think not only is death gentle but also give its prey and opportunity to reminisce with such things as her childhood fantasies, such as playing games at break times. Some people who thought they have experience death, described it as being filled with darkness and have no recollection of experiencing their childhood...
